Heads and Tails Photography’s
Hearts and Halos Legacy Sessions
When time feels fragile, these photographs help you hold on to what matters.
Hearts and Halos offers compassionate end-of-life and legacy pet photography for people who know this season will not last forever and want images that feel honest, gentle, and deeply personal.
Who This is For
This Isn’t for Everyone
This is for you if your pet is aging, ill, in decline, or nearing goodbye, and you want more than a few rushed phone photos.
It is for the person who wants to remember the way their dog leaned into them, the way their cat rested in the light, the way love looked in ordinary moments.
It is for families who need someone calm, respectful, and emotionally aware to guide the experience without making it feel heavy, staged, or overwhelming.
This is not for someone looking for a fast, trendy, highly styled pet session with no emotional focus.
It is not for people who want perfect behaviour, polished poses, or a long outing that asks too much of a tired or uncomfortable animal.
It is not for anyone who wants to ignore what this season means. Hearts and Halos is for meeting it with tenderness, not avoiding it.
What makes this so hard
When you know your time with your pet may be limited, everything can start to feel urgent.
You may keep meaning to book something, but life is full, emotions are complicated, and part of you may not feel ready to say out loud what is happening.
At the same time, you do not want to wait too long.
You want photographs that feel real. You want to remember them as they are. You want proof of this bond, this life, this love. But finding the right person to document this can feel impossible when your heart is already carrying so much.
A way to hold on
Hearts and Halos was created for exactly this moment.
These sessions are quiet, flexible, and shaped around your pet’s comfort first. There is no pressure to perform, no expectation to pretend everything is fine, and no need to make this into something it is not.
I come in with patience, experience, and deep respect for what this time holds. Together, we create photographs that preserve your pet’s presence and the connection you share, in a way that feels truthful, beautiful, and kind.

How it works – 3 steps
1. Reach out
You send a message and tell me a little about your pet, what is happening, and any timing concerns. If this is urgent, I do my best to prioritize these sessions.
2. We plan gently
We choose a location, pace, and approach that fits your pet’s current needs. That may mean home, backyard, beach, clinic grounds, or another meaningful place. Simple is enough.
3. We document what matters
During the session, I guide lightly and leave room for real moments to unfold. The focus is not perfection. The focus is your pet, your connection, and the truth of this time together.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What if my pet is very sick or has low mobility?
That is completely okay. Sessions are built around your pet’s comfort. We can work at home, in the yard, or anywhere that feels easiest. Short, quiet sessions are often the most meaningful.
2. What if I am emotional and do not think I can hold it together?
You do not need to. This space allows for tears, silence, laughter, and whatever else shows up. Nothing about this experience requires you to be composed.
3. Is this only for dogs?
No. Hearts and Halos is for beloved pets of all kinds. If they matter to you, they matter here.
4. How quickly should I book?
As soon as you know you want this. In these situations, waiting often becomes the biggest regret. Even if you are unsure, reaching out early gives us the best chance to make it happen.
5. What if I am not ready to say goodbye yet?
This is not about forcing a goodbye before you are ready. It is about honoring your pet and your bond while they are still here. Many people book because they want to be present now, not because the final day has arrived.
6. Can family members be included?
Yes. You, your partner, your children, and anyone closely connected to your pet can be included. These photographs are about relationship as much as remembrance.
Next Steps
1. Reach out now
If your pet is growing older, do not wait for the perfect moment. Send a message and we will start with one gentle conversation.
2. Ask about urgent availability
If time feels uncertain, let me know. Legacy sessions are treated with care and priority whenever possible.
3. Document the love that is here today
You do not need to be fully ready. You only need to know this matters.
