Heads and Tails Photography’s
Signature Portrait Sessions
Beautifully honest portraits of the love, joy, and character your pet brings to your life.
Who This is For
Who This isn’t For
Heads and Tails portrait sessions are for people who want to celebrate their pet’s life, personality, and presence while they are happy, active, and part of the everyday moments you never want to forget.
This is for you if you want vibrant, heartfelt artwork of the animal you love. It is for the wild ones, the gentle ones, the goofy ones, the dignified ones, and the companions who make home feel fuller, brighter, and more alive. You do not need a milestone or special occasion to have meaningful portraits made.
This is not the right fit if your pet is nearing the end of life and you need a session centered around goodbye, memorial storytelling, or the emotional weight of limited time.
Those sessions belong under Hearts and Halos, where the approach, pacing, and support are designed specifically for legacy and end-of-life photography.

Frequently Asked Questions
What If my Dog won’t Sit Still?
You may be surprised that 80% of the dogs I take photos are on a leash. It is very easy to remove them from the images after the fact. I also recommend that dogs stay on their leash for safety reasons.
What kind of animals do you photograph?
I have experience photographing dogs, cats, birds (parrots, pigeons, chickens), rodents (rabbits, rats, skinny pigs), horses. and reptiles (bearded dragon, gecko,). I have no problem
What if my dog has behaviour issues?
This is not a problem. I have experience with working with very anxious dogs, and dog reactive animals. There is also potential to photograph aggressive dogs because I have some longer lenses to keep some distance.
What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?
Since the weather is such a finicky thing, I will check in with you the night before our session and we can discuss what our options are and decide if we would like to reschedule. Deposits will be carried over to the rescheduled session.
